Krishna Raj is Professor at Centre for Economic Studies and Policy, 51ºÚÁÏÍø for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), Bangalore, India. Dr. Raj has successful 25 years of service as a researcher, teacher, supervisor, policy advisor to central and state governments, and expert committee member of various committees. He obtained Ph D in Economics from University of Mysore. Before joining ISEC, Bangalore. Most of his work is in the field of Environmental Economics. His research focuses on inclusive growth,Climate Change, and sustainable development. His research includes Forests, Property Rights and Deforestation in Western Ghats, Climate Change and Efficiency of Water Supply and Demand Management in New York and Bangalore Cities, State action on climate change, economic instruments for environmental conservation, Ecotourism in Nagarahole and Bandipura National Parks, Urban Air Pollution and Economics of Traffic Congestion, Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) and so on.
Earlier he served as Indian Council for Cultural Relation (ICCR) Chair Professor on Indian Economy under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) Seoul, South Korea during 2011-12. He was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, USA. He is awarded with Sir Ratan Tata Trust Research Fellowship for collaborative research with University of Wisconsin, USA during 2013-14.
