As I have told you all before, I am making it my mission to get back on track when it comes to getting healthy. When I took steps one year ago, I dropped 2 pant sizes in about 5 months. My approach: Weight Watchers which boils down to portion control and working out more often than I was... so even working out once a week. Now that 2014 is here, I want to continue getting healthy. I lost track over the holidays and I really want to get healthy and tone up.
I started a few weeks ago, just getting back on track with my eating habits. Which for me, includes, incorporating more veggies & fruits, drinking more water, slowly eliminating sweets and cutting back on carbs.
I've been torn on how to track my progress now that I'm working in exercise. I don't like the idea of weighing myself, I've never been into it. Last year, I tracked my weight loss by the amount of pant sizes I decreased. I'm not planning on dropping from a size 8 that I am now to a size 4. My goal here is to get healthy and tone up. With that, I decided this year I'll track my progress my measuring myself monthly.
I think it's a great way to see where you're progressing most and where you'll need to work on. So my friends, tonight I measured myself. I found a great website and a great chart to help me make sure I was taking the right measurements. This blog shows you measurements via pictures. And here my friends, are my honest measurements!
FYI: I'm 24 years old, I'm 4'10", I have an hourglass shape, and last time I was at the doctor I weighed 142! No shame in that!
So that I remember to take my measurements every month, I popped a reminder into my phone through June. I also made myself a worksheet in Google Docs so I can track my progress and compare my measurements every month.
I also gave myself a lot of thought as to what I want to be. Honestly, I'm pretty happy with the way I look now, but I do want to see improvements. So that's my goal: to see some sort of improvement every month. I think regardless, I'm going to be proud of any and all progress I make.
Make your number one goal to get healthy because with that, you'll lose the weight! You need to both eat healthy and exercise in order to see true results and to feel better about yourself.Go ahead and make specific goals if you'd like! Don't forget to feel proud of any progress you make! Don't overdo anything either, know your limits and listen to your body. Let's do this together, and let's do this right!
I'm encouraging you this week to whip out a tape measure, and take your measurements! Make a plan and work towards it, you can do it!
