Welcome to our blog!
See what's brewing!
I have a hard time throwing away old candle containers when they're pretty & I feel like I can use them again...
so I would just stash them on my dresser and leave them there. Then I came across a pin on good ol' Pinterest. But I pinned it and decided when I had a few to clean up, I'd do it then. I had thrown a few away before remembering this pin but when I came across it again, I was ready! I was left with 3 different candles to try out this pin with and here's what happened:
The instructions from the pin were super simple:
~Pour boiling hot water into the candles and let sit overnight
~Biggest tip: Make sure the water is cooled before you pour out the water!!!
This was a successful Pinterest attempt!
The soy candle was definitely the easiest to get the wax removed. The other two weren't difficult, but if you want the containers fast, plan ahead. I would suggest having to do the steps with regular wax candles twice. But it was worth the outcome! I'll probably try out making my own candles in the tin container and I'll remove the labels from the glass containers and try out another type of craft!
