Welcome to our blog!
See what's brewing!
I feel that it has become too easy to accept the amount of violence, hatred, finger pointing & fear in the world we live in today. Whether it's something we face daily or whether it's something that we may not encounter often, those things exist too freely for comfort.
I don't tend to talk politics or try or pretend I know how to solve the problems our society faces. And I won't sit here and try to take sides or preach about things I don't necessarily know everything about. But what I do know is that we all, as humans, need to remember to be kind. I think that we too quickly forget how simple it is to be kind to one another. Take away gender, race, sexuality, religion when you're looking at the person next to you. Remember that you are both humans. You both feel, you both have emotions, pains, experiences that have shaped you. You both have the ability to be kind & accepting. You both have the ability to accept that although the person next to you chooses to live their life differently, may look different, may love different; that doesn't make them a bad, unkind, unloving human. Being different should be celebrated not hated. While the issues that plague our society cannot be solved by simply being kind or with a smile to a stranger.;I do believe that this is a tiny place to begin in your daily life. Accept those around you, love everybody regardless and continue to spread some sort of light in such a dark world. What we have to remember is not to generalize, not to assume, and to treat people the way we want to be treated. I mean, isn't that one of the very first things we learn as a child? Don't we call it the golden rule? Why can't we all continue to live by such values we learn at a young age? We are taught in school about respect, kindness & friendship. We learn those things for a reason; because those are the values that should help every generation create a world in which they are proud to call theirs. A world that they are not afraid to raise children in. A world that can thrive as a whole. A world in which we can accept & appreciate that every single life matters. I encourage you all in your daily lives to be more kind & loving to those around you regardless of their gender, race, sexuality, religion or anything that separates them from you- a fellow human. I encourage you to learn more about the issues, to find productive and safe ways to make a difference. I encourage you find deep inside of you some shred of positivity and spread it into the world. Any bit of good can help. Never lose your hope, never lose your kindness, never lose you compassion & never lose your ability to love.

I'm always telling my family to smile and be kind to others. A smile brightens our day and you never know who you may pass that needs that smile to brighten theirs. Lovely post.
