Welcome to our blog!
See what's brewing!
I have discovered that making custom orders is my favorite part of owning my own business. And why is this you ask?
Because it's about getting to know our clients, see what they're looking for and being inspired by their visions. I love having clients contact me asking me if I'm able to do a certain project, something they might not see on the website. The answer, 98% of the time, is "Yes, I can do that, let me try it out for you!"
I love experimenting, trying something new. I always surprise myself with how much further my talent expands. I love talking to people, hearing their stories. Working on custom orders has allowed me to get to know my clients, build relationships for the future.
One of my favorite projects I've worked on was a custom order scrapbook for a 4 year, 3 sport high school Varsity athlete. Her parents wanted to make her this scrapbook as a graduation gift as she approached college. I really enjoyed working with the family, meeting them regularly with new updates, articles, pictures, ideas & more. Working with them on the 50+ pages was such a great experience! I was honored to be a part of such an incredible gift.
So that's why we are changing the way Love Struck is structured. We will be focusing on custom orders, working more often directly with our clients to create one of a kind items. We will still have our regular inventory up on the online store, we'll still have sales & promos! But we want to work more with you, expand our products to make everybody happy! So stay tuned with us as we try out the new things we have been planning. And of course, message us, send us an email so we can make a custom order with you!
This past month has been filled with such lows & such highs.
It started at the end of July when my aunt Carol passed away from a long battle with colon cancer. It was a loss that we had expected in so many ways, but hit us so hard. Her son Christopher, my cousin, passed away a year and a half prior, and the tragedy for one family is beyond difficult.
The same week of my aunt's passing, I chose to pursue another venture, to take a dream I had a little further. I continued to push the envelop with my cancer support blog I started earlier this year. I opened it nationwide, and it's creeping into being global as well. My dream that people would find some sort of support during their cancer journeys from reading stories from others experiencing it all has come true. The support I have gotten from people from all over has helped me move forward & I wish the same for those who find the blog in a time of need.
The month ended as I got to watch one of my best friends marry the love of her life. There's nothing like watching 2 people you care about so much take steps forward.
And that's what I think I've learned most this past month. I need to continue to move forward. I need to stop being afraid of finding myself, testing myself & opening myself up to the world. I need to move forward with my business because I have been beyond proud of myself & I need to continue to make the scary changes I've been thinking about regarding it. I need to stop being so afraid to make a mistake, to misstep.
This month I also turned 25 & although my vision of where I thought I'd be at this point in my life is nowhere near that, I also couldn't of dreamed of the things I have accomplished. I work full time, I started my own business at 22 years old, I manage a global support group, I am the co-chair of one of the largest Relay for Life's in our area and beyond that, I have a ridiculously amazing family; the one I was born into and the one I made for myself.
So, here's to a month of heartbreak, discovery & a new found desire to move forward. I hope you all stay tuned with what will be new with Love Struck, I hope it'll make you excited like it's making me!
Oh and, I am one freakin' lucky girl.
