I often get asked, "why is everything you make, one of a kind"
Well there are a few answers to that! The majority of my fabric isn't from regular fabric stores or from online stores. I work with local upholstery stores and use fabric from them! I can make many products from 1 yard of fabric, where an upholsterer can't re-do chair with just one yard. It's a cool way to get unique, high quality fabric. I think of it as recycling, and that, I love!
But I also love the idea that my customers are getting something unique. We can all run to any store, get the same purse and see it out on dozens upon dozens of other people. How does that make us feel special? But when you buy from Love Struck, you're getting a makeup case, sunglasses case, and countless other items that make you stand out. I think my pieces are conversation pieces being locally made & handmade!
I love making note cards & giving them to loved ones, it's more meaningful than going to a card store and buying something generic. The meaning, the love & the thought behind my products, is what makes them so great!
Because I love the personal aspect of my business, I love working on custom orders. I've been working on a huge scrapbook custom order placed by 2 parents for their daughters high school graduation. I have gotten to hear great stories about their daughter, I've learned all about her goals & I just know her future will hold greatness! I've gotten to know her through her pictures & articles, and I think it's what makes her scrapbook less generic & more from the heart.
Being handmade is just one of the reasons why our products are special. We hope you love that what we are bringing to you is so unique & that it makes you feel like you're being spoiled!

We always have a garage sale every summer. I think it's important to purge, to feel less cluttered. Getting rid of old things feels good, and hosting a garage sale can earn you extra money! Here are a few tips to having a successful garage sale!
Start purging early:
A lot of things accumulate over the years and you've probably noticed that you have a lot of things hidden in the attic or storage spaces. Choose roughly a date for when you'd like to have your garage sale so you can set a goal. Slowly go through boxes, maybe 5 every weekend. Sort them by garage sale, donate and trash. You can dump the trash little by little with your weekly trash pick up and mark the boxes for donation or garage sale and put them back in your storage space. This will save you time scrambling to go through things!
Get the neighborhood together!
We have had many successful garage sales for many reasons. We coordinated with our neighbors to have one large garage sale. We picked a date (sometimes a full weekend) and we shared the responsibility of advertising. Then the day of the garage sale, people had multiple driveways to visit. It brings more people over if they know there will be lots of different options. We have always had more success with group garage sales, so give your neighbors a ring!
Advertise online, for free!
I still think it's very necessary to make flyers and hang them around so people can come. But add to it, post your garage sale on websites like Yard Sale Search, Yard Sales.net, Garage Sale Finder, local patches or news websites. Make sure to post the correct date, time, location and a general list of items people will find. Add target words for popular things like, costume jewelry, tools, electronics, bikes and more! Don't forget to mention if you're having a group garage sale!
Be ready early...
You'll find that you'll advertise for your garage sale to start at, let's say, 8 am. And your first customers will arrive at 7:45 not caring if you're scrambling to set up. It's quite annoying if I do say so myself. Now, we plan on being completely ready almost a half hour before we advertised that way we can relax for a few minutes before hand and if any early risers come, we're ready!
Price it right!
You may have paid a pretty penny 8 years ago for that bike you're selling, but you're going to have to sell it for a lot less than you might like in order to sell it. Bigger items like that, have an idea with what the lowest price point you'll go is. Price it maybe, $15 higher. You're sure to get people to bargain with you and they'll think they're getting a deal if you go down in price. Be aware of the condition your items are in and try to be smart about pricing.You don't want to turn people away with high prices, but you also want to make money so don't underprice. Be willing to bargain, even if it's only a 50 cent difference!
Bring out your smile!
You're a saleswoman (or salesman) that day! Bring out your smile, be friendly and helpful. I've met a lot of people doing garage sales, I often end up having conversations with people who come by and I have found that they are more inclined to buy your things and less inclined to bargain if you've spent the time small talking. Just because it's your second hand stuff doesn't mean you should be rude and not helpful. You can even show your customers items you think they might like based on what they're looking for. The more helpful you are, the easier it is for them and the more you'll sell!
Donate the rest!
At the end of the day, we will still have things left over. But they're things you didn't want in the first place, so don't bring them back in your house. Look up local groups who will accept the remainder of your items as donations. We donate to our local Veterans Club every year. They have a list of the types of items they accept, you give them a call and they'll schedule a date to pick it up. They come to you which saves you time.
Don't forget to throw away larger, jukier stuff with big garbage. We tend to choose dates around the big garbage pick up so that we can leave the trash right outside and leave it. Some things just aren't worth trying to sell.
